**A Heroine Who Can Save Herself**
Hannah by Sharon Poppen is the story of the struggle of one woman against the cruelty of the early American west. Hannah is the main character of the story and finds herself beset by circumstances that would make even Job cringe. ### From the Author
Hannah is a product of the prompt 'a cloud of dust in the distance' that was given by the moderator of an on-line writers group, Flasher's Dozen, that I had joined early in my writing career. A second prompt a week later moved the story forward. After about five weeks, another member of the group told me about an on-line publisher that was **sending out bi-weekly stories** to his subscribers. I submitted what I had of Hannah and it was accepted. I then had to give my readers a chapter consisting of 1500 to 2000 words every Tuesday and Friday. The opening of each chapter got Hannah out of trouble and the ending put her back into some sort of peril. After about 45 episodes, **I decided to write a conclusion and the publisher agreed.** We changed our offer for Hannah from a serial to a novel. Due to the fact that it started it out as a serial, **it is a fast paced read** with a **great deal of action.** I hope you enjoy.
