When writing *Pushed*, I wanted this novel to be non-formulaic. When reading this novel, I hoped that readers would take away thoughts about the interconnection between terrorism and the drug trade. Since Navy SEALs do not work in a vacuum, the novel also focuses on the intelligence community. This novel describes different scenes that happen throughout the world and the storyline develops how those seemingly unrelated events are in fact connected.  It's not everyone's cup of tea--it's non-formulaic, so if you fancy a more linear plot progression & writing style then this is most likely not the book for you.
