**Q&A with S.A. Archer**

**Q: **Who is London Eyer?

**Archer:** London is a human who becomes ensnared into the magic of the fey. Celtic mythology talks about humans who became 'elf struck', which we used as a basis for the Sidhe Touch. Once enchanted there is no cure, but London is a fighter who isn't about to take 'enslavement' as an answer. She's an incredibly strong character, and gives us a human perspective on the fey and their struggles.

**Q:** Who is Donovan?

**Archer: **The former Unseelie assassin finds himself as the only person standing between the young, inexperience Sidhe youths and the predators intent on hunting them. Right from the beginning, he's forced to reinvent himself from a loner to a leader, but that is only the beginning of his transformation. He's a dark and powerful character that has inspired a lot of reader excitement.

**Q:** Who is Malcolm?

**Archer:** Malcolm has always been a reader favorite, all the way through the series. He literally goes through hell, fighting for survival every step of the way. The dynamics between Malcolm and Donovan is epic, building the foundation for the fierce loyalty Malcolm has for the Unseelie leader. Because of his 'bloodhound' nature, and his complicated relationship with magic, he's both incredibly vulnerable and intensely dangerous.

**Q:** Who is Lugh?

**Archer: **Lugh is loosely based on the heroic Celtic myth of the Sidhe sun god. As the Champion of the Sidhe, he feels a personal responsibility for the fey, which is what makes it so devastating when he is unable to prevent the destruction of the fey realm. He goes from the golden champion to losing everything that ever mattered to him. He travels from heroism and sacrifice, through the darkest realms of magic and his own psyche, in an epic and unexpected adventure.

**Q:** So why Ireland?

**Archer:** Ireland is a beautiful and magical country full of the Celtic history and mythology that The Sidhe series draws from. There is an incredible variety of locations that worked excellently for our adventures; from castle ruins, to rough mountains where one can imagine encountering dragons and goblins, to cities both quaint and gritty. Every bend in the road brings you something different, which made it such an adventure when Ravynheart and I visited. It's hard to imagine an Urban Fantasy about the fey taking place anywhere else.

**Q: **Why Urban Fantasy Adventure?

**Archer:** I am a huge fan of the genre myself. Urban Fantasy Adventure readers want to find magic and excitement existing just beyond this 'ordinary' world that we live in. We want to discover that the bakery is run by Brownies, that there is a vampire night club across the street, and that there might be a werewolf living next door. Maybe that shadow wasn't cast by a bird in the sky, but a dragon. And maybe, just maybe, we'll get Touched with the magic of the Sidhe and be invited into that enchanted and breath-taking world, where we can find ourselves on epic adventures and racing to survive. What could be more fun than that?

**Q: **Readers say the series just keeps getting better and better. What makes this series so compelling?

**Archer: **A big part of that equation belongs with the characters that demand to tell their stories. They are multidimensional, with emotional depth which gives the writing an intensity all the way through. Another part is the fresh storytelling. The plot rises organically from the characters, and their choices, which doesn't follow any by-the-numbers plots that many readers are familiar with. There are twists and turns you won't see coming, but that make perfect sense in their circumstances, and this leaves readers anxious to flip to the next page to find out what happens, which is why many readers that discover this series devour every book as fast as they can read them.
