The idea for Blakewood came from a very vivid dream I had where I was actually a maid showing up at a large estate in the Regency period that belonged to vampires. Granted I was watching the old seasons of the original Dark Shadows when I had the dream but my heroes are a lot hotter than Barnabas I promise. Of course I took only bits and pieces of the dream I had to develop the story. The estate of Blakewood is described exactly as it was in my dream and the character of Ms. Loman is exactly like the woman I dreamed about. The rest was me twisting around what I'd dreamed to develop a romance that I thought readers might enjoy.
