Caught between two worlds, she will have to make a stand for her destiny... ** ### From the Author I've been a huge fan of mythology since I was little... not just Greek, but overall mythology, as well as folklore and legends. As a history buff, it's always been fascinating to me the influence that stories have had on culture and society. I've always liked the myth of Hades and Persephone and it's held a fascination for me as long as I can remember, but like most myths, the story failed to explore the motivations and feelings of its characters. The original myth tells us that Demeter let Greece starve when she was looking for her daughter, but it doesn't say what would drive her to such a deed. The myth also tells us that Zeus was complicit in letting Persephone be kidnapped, even going so far as to give Hades his permission to do so. And what of Persephone herself? The myth often paints her as a victim, and an unhappy queen while Hades is nothing but a brute who only cared about his own loneliness and desire. Much as I love mythology, the characters in these stories are all too often one-dimensional, so I wanted to explore this myth and make it more real, and give these characters motivations for what they did, and in turn, bring life to the story and make it resonate with the reader. ### About the Author M.M.
