“So does that make you a Satanist or something?”
“Why don’t we just say I have faith in the truth or something? It makes me sound less evil and not a delinquent.”*
The first time she hears the deep, throaty, mocking chuckle, Malakha hopes it’s not some sick joke her catholic boarding school is playing to scare her into becoming a devout catholic or something. She hopes even more that she’s not going crazy.
Then, an experiment with illegal drugs at a rave transports Malakha to a barren wasteland occupied by monsters right out of the horror movies; a place a very attractive young man who resides there named Julius says is Hell. He doesn't know how, but Malakha can cross the invisible divide that separates Hell and Earth. Good thing too, because as soon as she gets back, a student tries to kill her, and Malakha thinks something, a demon maybe, may be trying to get her attention from Hell.
Since she’s the target and no one else can cross the divide, Malakha is going to need Julius' help to navigate Hell and find the demon who is making her school life more difficult that it already is, all the while resisting the temptations of the flesh that Hell has to offer.
